The Wild Doc Man

It seems that you are a dog person, or you aren't. I am a dog person...
I have had a dog my entire life. My dogs have always been large: when I was little we always had Samoyeds, when I met ExMrmayhem he had a lab. After the lab passed away 2 years ago, he convinced me to get a smaller dog- a Rat Terrier. He did a ton of research to find the perfect breeder and settled on one from Colorado. So we drove to Wyoming to meet her half way and pick up our dog- Doc.
He had aspirations of breeding Doc and showing him. We had had him home about 6 weeks when he broke his leg the first time- the result of playing to hard cost us $1,500 and we had four pins instead into his tiny leg. Shortly after his cast came off I noticed his leg was growing backwards- He had broken a growth plate in that same leg- long story short 2 more surgeries later and about $3,500 he is permanently a cripple. He gets around well most of the time, but his leg is very disfigured. One day of rough play will make him carry his leg for a week and of course the cold makes him uncomfortable. To ExMrMayhem the dog was now useless- so he became MY dog.
When I am home, he goes everywhere with me. At night when I am here by myself- he sleeps with me ( under the covers- head on my pillow). He is a strange looking little dog- his ears as you can see are way to big for his skinny broken body. But he is smart- and he loves the kids.
Sometimes the things that people throw away are other peoples priceless treasure.

Hello, I hope everyone is having a great weekend.

We had soccer this morning,I'm sad to see the season end, I love soccer or pretty much any sport.

Heather is going to be in town tonight so I believe we are going to go have a drink or two which will be fun. It's always nice to get out of house.

Special K-what are your plans for the evening??

I'm a pet person. Magrelo is not. I told him it is his one personality flaw. He has never been an animal lover. I'm not sure if he's rubbing off on me, or if having kids has jaded me. But I'm not the animal person that I once was. We have a Beagle, and she is perfect, but the shedding does annoy me. I've had a cat since before I had Magrelo or kids and he was my baby. We decided yesterday that he's going to have to be put to sleep. I'm sad, but I feel more guilty that I'm not even more sad. Does that make sense? He's growing tumors all over his stomach, and is just not well. I know I'll be sad for awhile, but I'm also looking forward to getting rid of the litter box. I'm mean...

And a road trip WITH hats!!! YAY!! Lets start planning, or should I say plotting??
And go ahead and try to teach me to ski- I'm game. Can I get a new hat?? Just know that I WILL BREAK SOMETHING. Look at my track record..not so graceful...
My daughter had a goldfish named Vanessa that lived for like 3 years. It was bizare. It died on Sept. 11...The irony...

Gyps, don't get me wrong- I myself am also a music lover(he he) but it is so much more enjoyable to listen to your OWN music, don't you think?? Also, mostly it was the LEVEL of the AUDIO on your SPEAKER...

Our beagle is now at home recovering from her $1000 surgery repairing her ACL. I guess we are dog people, but having kids has jaded me a bit.

Seminole, you have/had a cat? (I guess that is why I'm not a cat person.)

I know! I know! You forgot a trip to Kansas. Doesn't that sound SO exciting?

Forrest, how do you not know that I have a cat? I've had him for 10 years!!!

I think my cat is trying to prove that it would be worthwhile to keep him around. He left 3, yes 3, dead mice on my deck this morning and a dead bird. I'm not sure what to think. Is it a plea to let him live, or a threat on my life?
